Funeral Services for Dean Wiggins will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield, with burial following in the Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the services. Pastor Dr. Keith Schweitzer will officiate the service. Open visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m., with family to greet friends from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, May 30, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.

Dean Allen Wiggins was born Oct. 22, 1945, the son of Earl and Edna (Weber) Wiggins, in Richland. Dean tragically passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, as a result of the tornado that swept through Greenfield.
Dean grew up in Fontanelle and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1964. Dean was proud he lettered in football his freshman year and later became captain of the football team. He also played basketball during his years in school and spent his summers working for farmers.
On June 26, 1965, he was united in marriage to Pamela Anne Jensen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield. From this union two sons were born, Todd Allen and Jeffrey Dean. Dean worked for Feeders Service and Hansen Feed Services for many years and subsequently worked at Cardinal Glass before retiring in 2011.
Dean shared his time and talent helping those in need in his community. He volunteered for the Greenfield Fire Department for over 20 years, served as president of the Booster Club and president of the Greenfield Country Club. Dean was immensely proud of his sons and their accomplishments. He always appreciated visits from his grandchildren and loved making memories with them. He especially loved spending time with friends during his Friday afternoon drives around the country and taking trips to casinos.
Bowling, golfing, playing cards and games, especially poker and pitch and traveling were among his favorite activities. He was a dedicated Iowa Hawkeyes fan and was fond of watching them play and listening to Dolph, Ed and Bobby.
Dean is survived by his two sons: Todd (Nancy) Wiggins of Urbandale and Jeffrey (Tanja) Wiggins of Greenfield; five grandchildren: Thomas (Jena) Wiggins, Brittani (Danny) Dillon, Jacob Wiggins, Bailey Wiggins and Alex Wiggins; seven great-grandchildren: Mason, Micayla, Declyn and Ender Wiggins and Isabella, Isaac and Mileena Dillon; brother, Gary (Nonie) Wiggins; sister, Diane (Bob) Edwards; sisters-in-law: Nancy and Jane Wiggins and Judy and Linda Jensen; other relatives and close friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Edna Wiggins; stepfather, Clyde Westphal; parents-in-law, Ralph and Hazel Jensen; brothers, Ron and Max Wiggins; brothers-in-law, Dennis and Steven Jensen and nephews, Chad Edwards and Eddie Wiggins.
