Lowell Hagle, 76, of Creston, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at his home in Creston. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Creston Eagles Club 1398, 300 E. Montgomery Street in Creston. A flag presentation will be at 1 p.m., during the luncheon, by the Theodore J. Martins Post 1797 of the Creston V.F.W.

Lowell LaVern Hagle was born Dec. 30, 1946, the son of Lucille (Johnson) and Roy L. Hagle in Red Oak. He graduated from East Union High School in 1964. Lowell served in the United States Navy from December 1964 until his honorable discharge in February 1968.

On March 16, 1968, Lowell married Shirley J. Repplinger in Cromwell. They lived and worked in Council Bluffs for a brief time, returning to Creston in 1969. Lowell worked at Warren Oil in Creston for several years before starting his work with the Creston Post Office. He carried mail for 12 years, then worked in maintenance for many more, retiring in 2002. Lowell later returned to work at Crest Ridge Estates for seven years. Lowell was a member of the American Legion and former member of the Elks Lodge, both of Creston.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley; three sons: Jeff Hagle of Delphos, Jared (Jackie Anderson) Hagle and Jason (Lisa) Hagle, both of Creston; nine grandchildren: Christal (Tim Blaisure) Hagle, Joey (Stephany) Hagle, Ciara, Cody and Kayla Hagle and Hannah, Chloe, Gracie and Sophie Hagle; six great-grandchildren: Aiden Craig, Evie Blaisure, Ryley and Jemma Hysell and Trenton and Navia White; two sisters-in-law: Kate (Ted) Jones of Shannon City and Ginny Bishop of Altoona; two brothers-in-law: Pete (Marge) Repplinger of Creston and Gary (Jo Herman) Repplinger of Des Moines; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Randy Hagle in 2016; his parents-in-law, Joe and Dorothy Repplinger; brother-in-law, Dick Bishop; niece, Tiffini Braman and nephew, Tony Repplinger.
