Sandra J. Webb, 74, of Creston, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, in Des Moines.

Sandy Webb, 74, of Creston, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Crest Baptist Church in Creston. Pastor Chuck Spindler will officiate. Visitation with family receiving friends will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, prior to service time at Crest Baptist.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a special designation. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.

Sandra Jo Webb was born Oct. 29, 1948, the daughter of Ardelle (Jandrey) Slorah and Lee J. Slorah in Creston. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines in 1966 and received her bachelor of psychology and human services from SWCC and BV in 2018.

On Feb. 21, 1970, Sandy was united in marriage to James “Jim” Weldon Webb in Creston. They settled in Creston most of their life, where Sandy worked at Creston News Advertiser as an editor and wrote a special column called “Sandy’s Web.” She then worked at Blue Cross and Blue Sheild, beginning in 1995 as a claims analyst, commuting for years before moving to Des Moines. They returned to Creston after Sandy retired. Jim passed away soon after in 2016.

Sandy was an avid reader, was a member of several bowling leagues, loved following her children, Kevin and Deb, in baseball and softball and later enjoyed watching her grandson, Tanner, coach football.

Sandy is survived by her children, Kevin (Roxanne) Webb of Creston and Deb Webb of West Des Moines; grandchildren Tanner Webb of Creston, Jacob (Ashley), Marissa (Tanner), Braeton, Logan, Justice, Kayli, Adrianna and Michael; her fur-child, Katrina and fur-grandkids, Katee and Lucy; her sisters, Kathy Slorah of Ankeny and Pat Leto of Norwalk; a brother-in-law, Fred (Hattie) Webb; three sisters-in-law, Arlene Sweet, Donna Smith and Calista Slorah; along with numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim, in 2016; her mother- and father-in-law, Weldon and Mildred Webb; her daughter-in-law, Amy Webb; her sister, Susan Bridges; brother, Joe Slorah; her fur-child, Missy and many other extended family.
