Zach Bunner, 31, of Des Moines, died Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, from car accident injuries. A Celebration of Life Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Keith Schweitzer and Pastor Rick Titus will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation will be 2-7 p.m., with family receiving friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 17, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Zachariah David Bunner was born Feb. 18, 1992, to Robert Clayton Bunner and Roberta Sue (Grzanich) Bunner in Des Moines. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines in 2010 and later studied at Iowa State University.

Zach worked at Casey’s, On Point Security, U.S. Cellular selling cell phones and for Amazon in production. He was also the mascot for the Pro Wrestling Revolver.

Survivors include his father and stepmother Robert and Breeze Bunner of Des Moines, mother and stepfather, Roberta and Mike Batey of Creston; brother Ray (Rebecca) Bunner of Creston; sister Cheynne Brunner (Johnie Palmer) of Bethany, Missouri; eight nieces and nephews: Duane Figgins, Alex, Caleb, Amiya and William Bunner, Adeline and Dyson Peterson and Collin Palmer; uncle, Steve Spruse of West Liberty and aunts: Linda Bunner Hyers of West Palm Beach, Florida, Rebecca Nunn Ryan of West Des Moines, Janese (Jake) Starrett of San Antonio, Texas, and Barb (Ken) Snell of Stuart.
