Kathy Williams Shuman, 74, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Creston, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away May 1, 2023, peacefully with her family by her side.
Kathy Nelta Williams was born May 21, 1948, to Bernice and Clifford Williams in Creston. She was the youngest of 12 children. Kathy graduated from Creston High School in 1966.
On a trip in 1968 to visit her sisters in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kathy met a man who became her life long partner, David Shuman. David and Kathy created a beautiful family of three sons, whom Kathy’s love for was palpable.
David and Kathy settled in Paradise, California, in 1978. They lived there until the Camp fire when they relocated to Tucson, Arizona. Kathy was a woman with a witty sense of humor, full of kindness and generosity. She was well-loved and a friend to everyone she met, including her many friends she acquired during her 26-year career in the banking industry.
Her love for her family and friends was evident up until the end.
Kathy Shuman is survived by nine siblings, her loving husband of almost 55 years, David; three sons: David, Justin and Aaron; two daughters-in-law, Jamie and Sarah and two grandchildren, Kaia and Kayden, who created her favorite title and were the source of her greatest joy.
The Shuman family plans to host a Celebration of Life in Northern California in fall 2023.
