Johanna Nancy “Ann” Bryant was born March 4, 1938, to Jesse and Mary Hall in Creston. After graduating from Creston High School in 1956, she worked as an operator for General Telephone in Creston.
Ann will be remembered most as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a cherished friend to many.
She married Jim D. Bryant, on May 18, 1959. She enjoyed many years at home, ensuring a wonderful childhood and life for her family. She excelled at gardening, sewing and cooking, and was known for her homemade pies, salsa and doughnuts. Ann enjoyed traveling, helping others, attending elementary and high school sporting events and could be counted on to make noodles, salads and/or desserts for the Methodist Church.
Her creativity and floral design talents were revealed when she started working at Kelly’s Flowers Shop in Creston in the 1970s. Ann and Jim later purchased and operated the business until their retirement in 1990. During that time, Ann became a Master FTD Designer. After retirement, she continued to share her talents part-time at the Garden Gate Greenhouse, Nelda’s Greenhouse and Hy-Vee Floral.
