David L. Stringham

David L. Stringham, 58, of Diagonal, passed away Sept. 24, 2022. Visitation will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 at Armstrong Funeral Home. Private burial is in Benton Cemetery.

Memorials are to be directed to the family.

David was born on Dec. 4, 1963, to Bill and Shirley Borland Stringham.

He loved the outdoors whether it was fishing or hunting, catching fireflies with the kids or simply enjoying a peaceful evening listening to the crickets chirp.

Dave was very social, enjoying having fun and kidding around. He liked country music, playing cards and NASCAR. His passion was truck pulling and everything involved with it. He was very proud of the work he, John, Jessie, Adam and family did on and off season to get the highest performance for a run down the track. They all became family over the years sharing triumphs as well as lessons learned.

Dave held friends and family very close to his heart. He was protective, kind, caring and could always be trusted to listen and offer a big hug or words of encouragement.

His nieces were the light of his life, and they certainly loved their Uncle Dave.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Borland Stringham.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Norma Stringham; sisters: Donna Stringham, Billie Stringham and Penny (Mark) Spencer and nieces Brittany, Paige and Mollie.
