Patrick H. Fleming

Denver, Colorado

Patrick Hugh Fleming was born Oct. 3, 1957, in Corning, Iowa, to Robert and Betty Fleming. When he was 4 years old, his family moved to Creston, where he attended school. He was one of six children and as a child his family enjoyed many family vacations to visit aunts and uncles in Colorado. This is where his love of the mountains came from. Going to Estes Park was one of the family’s favorite spots to visit.

In 1975, he graduated from Creston High School and went on to attend junior college at Southwestern Community College. After school, he began working for Burlington Northern Railroad, like his dad. He started his career in Creston and advanced to Burlington, Iowa, then later transferred to Kansas City, Missouri. In 1986, he switched careers to AT&T and moved to Denver, Colorado, which became his home for 36 years.

Growing up, Pat was very into science, technology and was a huge movie buff. He especially enjoyed reading the Popular Science Magazines. He kept up on news and everything going on in the world. Pat had a love for animals and even trained the family dog, Puddles. He cared deeply for his family and always said that he wanted everyone to be happy and healthy. Pat made sure to touch base and chat with his mom and siblings several times a week. Patrick liked to cook and try different recipes and often-times would give gifts and send food to his family, friends and neighbors. According to his neighbors, he was known for sharing his cheesecakes for special occasions. He had a very kind heart; Pat was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Patrick is survived by his siblings: Louise Fleming of Creston, Robert Fleming Jr. of Hiawatha, Mary Fleming of Creston, Gerilyn Fleming of Creston and Barb (Joe) Feld of Robins; nephews: Jake (Britni) Kawa, Ryan Kucera and Robert Fleming; nieces: Jessica (Nick) Rundle, McKenzie (Chad) Hoeger, Paige (Jason) Stock and Amber Fleming and many great nieces and nephews.
