Susan A. Godfroy

Susan Godfroy, 63, of Creston, died Monday, July 25, 2022, at Greater Regional Health in Creston. A celebration of life graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, Iowa. Pastor Bob Burgett will officiate. Open visitation with family receiving friends was held 9 - 11 a.m. Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue, Creston.

Susan Ann Godfroy was born Dec. 4, 1958, the daughter of Jack E. and Donna J. Larson in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1976 where she played basketball and was actively involved in synchronized swimming.

Later in Susan’s adult life, she was blessed with four children and worked full time as a homemaker and mother. Outside the home, she worked part time as a realtor and certified nursing assistant. She loved the beach and palm trees, visiting family and grandchildren and being an active member at Solid Rock Ministries.

Susan is survived by her parents, Jack and Donna Larson of Afton; four children: Joshua (Shannon) Rawls of DeForest, Wisconsin, Gloria (Mark) Rink of Riverview, Florida, Jacob Godfroy of Creston and Megan Godfroy of Maryville, Missouri; five grandchildren: Emogen Rawls, Brittney Rink, Connor Rink, Dexter Johnston and Zander Johnston; brother, John (Kristina) Larson of Red Oak and sister, Julie (Bob) Dvorak of Bondurant.

Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents.
