Peggy Miller, 60, of Creston, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue, Creston. Services will be live streamed under events. Pastor Tony McCutchan will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, with family receiving friends 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the family. Online condolences can be left at www.powersfh.com.

Peggy Sue Miller was born Oct. 6, 1961, to Raymond Leonard and Eleanor Darlene (Boham) Cottrell in Iowa City, Iowa. She attended school in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in May 1980 and later studied at SWCC.

Peggy was united in marriage to Don Miller in Creston. To this union two daughters, Tyanna and Crystal, were born. Peggy lived her entire life in Creston. She worked at Ferrara Gummy Plant in Creston where she started as a machine operator, working her way up to a quality control manager. She also worked as food safety coordinator at CHS, Inc. and food safety coordinator at Zeeland Farm Services, Inc. Peg was always blessed with good co-workers. Don and Peg later divorced but remained very close friends.

Peg was a former member of the Creston Assembly of God Church in Creston. She was a very proud mother of her girls, Tyanna and Crystal, and all her grandchildren. She loved each family member immensely and loved helping and blessing people.

Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Tyanna Janelle (Justin) Holker, of Adel and Crystal Lynn Miller of Afton; three brothers: Jack Cottrell of Ames, Bob (Jan) Cottrell and Tom (Sharon) Cottrell, both of Creston; sisters: Kathy Portwood of Creston, Tabitha Cottrell (Luke Parks) of Creston; six grandchildren and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Darlene Cottrell; her sister, Pam Cottrell-Conley in 2014; brother in-law, Jim Portwood in 2020 and nephew in infancy, Robert Thomas Cottrell.
