Connie Lauffer, 68, of Creston, died Monday, June 20, 2022, at her home following a long illness. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Creston. Pastor Dave Tebbenkamp will officiate. Services will be livestreamed with the link available at www.powersfh.com in the events section. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton. Visitation with family receiving friends will be one hour prior to service Thursday, at First Baptist Church.

Connie Kay (Young) Lauffer, was born Sept. 17, 1953, to Earl Raymond Young and Harriet Jennie Kilgore in Creston, Iowa. She graduated from Creston High School May 18, 1971.
Connie was united in marriage Feb. 29, 1972, at First Baptist Church in Creston to Robert E. “Butch” Lauffer. They settled in Creston and later moved to Jefferson in 1987. Connie and Butch would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in February of this year. Connie worked in the elementary school kitchen while living in Jefferson.
They returned to Creston in 2008 and bought their farm west of Afton. Connie continued her work in the kitchen at the Creston Elementary/Middle School. Connie was a regular attendee at First Baptist Church in Creston.
Survivors include her two sons, Blake (Kim) Lauffer of Afton and Courtney (Alisha) Lauffer of Coon Rapids; mother, Harriet Palmer of Creston; six grandchildren: Jeannette, Hailey, Gabriel, Benjamin, Easton and Bristol Lauffer; two brothers, Jerry (Sue) Young of Afton and Dale (Monica) Young of Cromwell; sister, Carmen (Dan) Dahl of Corning; brother in-law, Mike (Diane) Lauffer of Orient; sister in-law, Harriett Chapman of Indianola; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Butch Lauffer in January 2022, and her father, Earl Young.
