Judith Prentice, 79, of Creston, died Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Creston Specialty Care in Creston. A celebration of life visitation will be from 2 - 6:30 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. concluding with a prayer of thankfulness. The burial will be private.

Judith Ann Prentice, born May 18, 1943, daughter of Pauline Mildred (Minear) and Henry Louis Purscell, in Newton, Iowa. She was educated in Newton, Weldon and Creston Community Schools.

On June 16, 1961, Judy was united in marriage to Robert Leonard Carlisle in Creston. They settled in Creston, where she was an active homemaker. They later divorced. On July 2, 1983, Judy was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Prentice in Reno, Nevada. They settled in Citrus Heights, California, where she worked for Montgomery Ward in the service and repair department for over 11 years. From 1990 to 1995, Judy worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of California, in the claims department as a data input specialist. In June 1995, Judy returned to Creston and had worked part-time at Taco Johns. Judy was a member of Crest Baptist Church in Creston.

Survivors include a stepdaughter Kelly Reeves of Creston; three stepsons: Michael Prentice of Destin, Florida, Mark (Jerri) Prentice of Lower Lake, California, and Patrick (Kathryn) Prentice of Creston; three stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren and two stepsisters: Judy K. Peltier, and Marilyn Tindle, both of Omaha, Nebraska.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert in 2005; stepdaughter Kathy Prentice; stepson-in-law, John Reeves; four brothers: Billy, Larry, Harold Pursell, and Bobby Purcell in infancy; two sisters: Marilyn (Bill) Ticknor and Mary Joan Purscell in infancy; stepbrother, Sidney Tindle and stepfather, Merle “Bill” Tindle.
