Judy Strayer Lange was born on May 19, 1942, in Algona, Iowa, and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, in Lenox, Iowa, at the age of 79.
Judy spent her early years in Hartley, Iowa, and graduated from Hartley High School.
Judy was united in marriage to George Lange on November 27, 1960. George and Judy started their life together in Everly, Iowa. Over the years they lived in Sutherland, Sheldon, Ida Grove and Lenox, Iowa, raising their three boys. Judy worked at the sewing factory in Bedford, Iowa, for 10 years and then at Winnebago in Lorimor, Iowa. She could sew/mend just about anything and didn’t think twice about offering her skills to help family, friends, or someone in need. Judy also loved gardening. She enjoyed spending time in her garden tending the plants and loved the fruit of her work! Tomatoes were one of her favorite vegetables to grow, eat, and share.
Judy adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She spoke with absolute pride and abounding love whenever sharing stories about them. Judy gravitated toward any baby/child that she saw anywhere and continued to do so even when her mind began and continued to fail her. Her memory may have failed her, but her love for children did not.
Preceding Judy in death were her parents Howard and Marjorie (Gregerson) Strayer; two brothers, Russell and James Strayer; and sisters, Marjorie Baldwin, Donna Jobes, and Lillian Stone; two nieces, Kandis Bailey, Sheryl Schroeter; and one nephew, Rodney Strayer.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband George; her boys Rick and wife Dona of Valparaiso Florida; Jeff and wife Diane of Gravity, Iowa; and Greg and wife Klisa of Orient, Iowa; grandchildren include Kenneth Lange (wife Claire), Elyssa Messier (husband Steele), Corey Lange (wife Jamie), Connor Lange (wife Hannah), Caleb Lange, Colby Lange, Keiley Woodside (husband Andy), and Hailey Endres (husband Adam); eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws; brother-in-laws; nieces; nephews; friends; and care providers that loved “Grandma Judy” in her final years. A family service will be held at a later date.
She is whole again.
