Danny Neisemier, 68, of Afton, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Doug Wilson will officiate.

Burial will be in Lorimor Cemetery. Memorials are to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.powersfh.com.

Open visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Danny Chriss Neisemier was born Aug. 6, 1953, in Osceola, the son of Leo Chriss Neisemier and Pauline (Gibson) Neisemier. He graduated from East Union High School in 1971.

On March 30, 1973, Danny was united in marriage to Lynette Hull in Murray. They settled in rural Union County, where they had two children, Dana and Andy. They were later divorced.

Danny worked in road construction, farmed with his father and later began driving trucks. In 1997, he started Neisemier Trucking for a few years.

He returned home full time and began hauling feed. After 18 years he started “semi” retirement and worked as a farm hand for Buxton Custom Farming. Throughout his life, he enjoyed woodworking and breaking and training horses.

Survivors include his two children, Dana (husband Zack) Pryor of Afton and Andrew (wife Amber) Neisemier of Thayer; three sisters: Kathy (husband Gary) Sink of St. Mary’s, Cindy (husband Lauran) Driskill of Afton and Jane Hamilton of Prole; six grandchildren: Rakenzy, Hunter Pryor, Alexia, Abigail, Ace and Axel Neisemier; many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Pauline Neisemier.
