Charles Miller

Alvin, Texas

Charles Miller of Alvin, Texas passed from this life on September 16, 2021 at the age of 86. He was born in Ellston, Iowa on December 11, 1934 to LeGrande and Florene Miller. Charles had a sister Marilyn Greene who passed away in May 2021.

Charles married in 1955 to Elizabeth (Betty) Jobe. They had two children. Daughters Cindy was born in 1957. Son Tom was born in 1958. They divorced in 1968.

Charles met the love of his life Carolyn in 1969 and the married in 1970. They moved to Alvin in 1974. Charles worked at Amoco Chemical Chocolate Bayou until he retired in 1997. He spent his spare time involved in his church. He was a member of the Museum Society and Kiwanis. He was also a veteran. His passion was buying and fixing up houses for rental property. He stayed busy with this until the end.

In 2014 his precious wife of almost 44 years passed. Charles was devastated by this loss. His daughter Cindy moved from Nebraska to Alvin to be with him. They had many good times together, including visits from grandchildren. Charles was a member of First Christian Church of Alvin and had a special relationship with Breath of Life Community Church.

He will be remembered for his kindness and love of family and friends.

Family members include daughter, Cindy Lewis; son, LeGrande Tammy Miller; grandsons, Christopher Lewis and wife Kari, Clinton Lewis and wife Cassi, Cory Lewis and wife Liz, Sean Lewis and wife Taylor, Thomas Miller; granddaughter, Annie Evans and husband Justin; great-grandchildren: Channa Inman and husband Jordan, Jaeger Lewis, Alana Lewis, Cameryn Lewis, Fisher Lewis, Reagan Lewis, Josie Evans, Bella Evans, Evelyn Evans, Penelope Evans; and many other nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at First Christian Church, 1212 S. Durant St. Alvin, Texas 77511.
