Pearl Louise (Kessler) Mullin, the daughter of Frank Andrew and Olga Elizabeth (Voss) Kessler, was born Oct. 12, 1926, near Creston, in Union County. She attended Harmony School until the 8th grade.
On Oct. 14, 1954, Pearl married Russell Dale Mullin in Creston. Pearl’s working life included five years at the Creston locker and fourteen years at Hy-Vee until her retirement.
Pearl enjoyed playing pitch, bridge and especially bingo with Russell. She was always sure to have the game on when her Chicago Cubs or Kansas City Royals were playing. Pearl was skilled at embroidery and crafted many quilt blocks. She was also known for her delicious ham balls. Pearl loved to keep in touch with her family and friends with her regular visits over the phone. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Eagles Lodge in Creston.
Left to cherish Pearl’s memory is her sister, May Carlisle of Creston; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Frank and Olga; two brothers: Harold and Warren Kessler; four sisters: Ruth Monday, Edna Priest, Mary Kail and Helen Hamilton.
