Phyllis McFee, 86, of Creston; formerly of the Kent area, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Creston Specialty Care in Creston. A Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2021 at Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. The service will be Livestreamed which is found on our website under events. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston. Visitation and family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorials will be determined at a late time. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.

Phyllis Esther (Dwyer) McFee, daughter of Harley D. Dwyer and Atholl L. (Jessup) Dwyer, was born September 9, 1934, in Adair County, Iowa. She graduated from Zion High School in 1953.

On May 27, 1955, Phyllis married Wilfred “Willie” R. McFee in Creston, Iowa. They settled in Platte Township, near Kent, where Phyllis was a farmwife, mother, waitress, sold real estate and was an Insurance Agent. Phyllis enjoyed cooking, making pies, sewing and gardening over the years. She was a member of the Platte Center Presbyterian Church, and an avid supporter of her kids and grandkids sporting events and activities.

Survivors include her three daughters, Jeannie Gaffney of Eudora, Kan., Joan McFee of Waukee and Carol (husband Steve) Baudler of Fontanelle; a son, Jeff McFee of Creston; her brother Roy (wife Wanona) Dwyer of Winterset; her sister, Rosann Christensen of Waukee and sister-in-law, Donna McFee Neely of Creston; nine grandchildren, Erin Bailey, Megan Schuett, Kristina (husband Caleb) Carroll, Kim McFee, Billy (wife Chelsea) Baudler, Brooke (husband Andrew) Pavel and Brittany (husband Jordan) Groves, and Sidney and Macy McFee; and 14 great-grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred R. McFee, son Craig E. McFee, her daughter-in-law, Bobbie J. McFee, parents, and her brothers, Paul H. Dwyer and Roland D. Dwyer.
