Juliana Krauth

Massena

Juliana Krauth,

Juliana Winther Krauth, 69, of Massena, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Massena, alongside her husband David.

Juliana was born May 10, 1952, in Atlantic. As a child she grew up in Anita, attending Anita Community Schools and graduating from Anita High School in 1970. Juliana married her first husband, Paul Peterson, in 1970. They lived in Adair and had four children born to this union: Brian (1971), Michele (1973), Jamie (1974), and Joni (1978); Juliana and Paul later divorced.

Juliana married her second husband, David Krauth, in 1988. They lived in Massena. Juliana loved being a mom and took immense pride in all of her children and their differences in their younger years.

She was full of life and love and truly enjoyed helping and doing for others. There was never a dull moment with Juliana. She touched many lives throughout working at local care centers with her abounding sense of humor, hearty laugh, and great big smile.

Juliana had a larger-than-life personality. She was a master of sarcasm and could light up any room she entered. If she couldn’t help lift your spirits, she was an amazing listener and shoulder to cry on. Juliana found it hard to sit still and always had a project or something to do. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and a very hard worker who loved being outside and traveling.

She loved the sun, saltwater, beaches and was most always tan while becoming Snow Birds in Weslaco, Texas. Above all, Juliana was universally loved and leaves behind a tremendous void in countless lives. She will be greatly missed.

Juliana is preceded in death by her husband, David Krauth; her parents, Viola and Clifford Winther; sister Sherri Denney and in-laws, Carl and Myrtle Krauth.

She is survived by her children: Michele (Rick) Hays of Adair, Jamie (Shannon) Peterson of Polk City and Joni Peterson of Surprise, Arizona; three grandchildren: Stormi, Britni and A.J.; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Juliana and David will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at the community building in Cumberland with burial in the Victoria Township cemetery south of Massena. Pastor Casey Pelzer will officiate.
