Arthur “Junior” Mickael, 54, of Creston died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. in Creston. Pastor Tim Maxa will officiate.

The service will be livestreamed on Powers Funeral Home Facebook page. Visitation with family receiving friends will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Arthur “Junior” Mickael, son of Arthur Berdine Mickael and Phyllis Loretta Jane (Richards) Mickael, was born Sept. 30, 1966, in Iowa City. He was educated in the Creston and Orient Community schools. He later did tech training for Papetti’s Foods

On Aug. 19, 1987, Junior married Sandra Lea Case in Creston. They settled in Creston where he worked in roofing with Fred Sault. He then worked for Papetti’s Foods of Lenox, then left to work at Osceola Foods. Junior returned to work for Papetti/Michael’s Foods, serving 25 years in the maintenance department.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Mickael of Creston; two daughters Amanda Thompson of Creston and Tara Mickael, both of Creston; two stepdaughters Mindy Keeler and Lela (Wes) Terpstra, both of Newton; a brother Michael Jones of Des Moines; a sister Connie Mickael of Creston; a brother-in-law Tim (Tammy) Case of Afton; nine grandchildren; a special nephew Brandon Case of Afton and numerous other extended family members.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rebecca Jones in infancy, mother-in-law and father-in-law Helen and Jim Case, brother-in-law Dennis Case and two sisters-in-law Jennifer Mason and Rose Schultz.
