Shelly England, 56, of Creston, died Friday, May 21, 2021 at CHI Health Mercy in Corning.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. in Creston. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The service will be livestreamed on Powers Funeral Home Facebook page.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Red Oak. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be made at www.powersfh.com.

Shelly Jean England, daughter of Walter Allen and Joyce Lillian England, was born Dec. 31, 1964, in Red Oak. She started school in Red Oak, then moved to Creston where she was educated in Creston schools.

Early on, Shelly worked at the Lenox egg plant for several years. She was principally a homemaker. She also worked as a waitress at Happy Chef. Shelly had worked in housekeeping.

Survivors include her very special friend, Jeff Mendenhall of Corning; her four children: Jessica (Ryan) England of Des Moines, Shasta (Karl) Stiglitz of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Erica Halferty of Corydon and Austin Angus of Mount Ayr; six grandchildren; two sisters Susan (Matthew) Miller of Des Moines and Rainee England of Creston; her aunt Mary Loudon of Creston.

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Bill Denton, three sisters: Julie Stewart, Lori Stone and Sara Mark, nephew Clinton John Miller.
