Diane Pearl Siddens, the youngest daughter of Lloyd and Anita (Cook) Webb, was born in Creston Aug. 18, 1959. She attended Lincoln No. 5 country school until it closed. She was then enrolled in the Creston Community School District, graduating in 1978.
Diane was a member of Youth Fellowship for Jerusalem Methodist Church. Her working career included Bunn-O-Matic and Creston Veterinary Clinic. In her more than two decades working at the vet clinic, she readily knew the names of hundreds of pets.
On Sept. 2, 1977, Diane was united in marriage with David Siddens, the handsome young cowhand who was so smitten with the blue-eyed girl on horseback driving cattle. They shared a love of nature and animals. Two children were born to this union: Monte and Melinda. As a family, they enjoyed fishing and camping.
Her beloved children learned at an early age to be strong and independent. She was a caring mother, and young grandmother. She enjoyed her life and made strangers smile to spread the love.
Diane enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with her sisters at sunset. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and walking at Green Valley Lake. The red-tail hawk was her favorite bird to watch. She could spot one a half a mile away.
For many years, she and David had a beloved cat named “Mr. Beaglesworth,” fondly known as “The Beast.”
Those left to honor Diane’s memory are: her son Monte of Tecumseh, Nebraska; daughter Melinda Foland of Afton; grandchildren: Trevor Henry (girlfriend Abbey) of Mount Ayr, Daniel Giles of Afton; sisters: Rozlin (Joe) Selveen of San Diego, California; Linda Buxton of Creston; Kathy Webb (Chris) of Fairfield; sisters-in-law Shirlee (Larry) Kilpatrick of Lorimor, Sharon (Mike) Ambrose of Kent, Carolyn (Chuck) DeBord of Macksburg, Karen (Jim) Decker of Lorimor; brothers-in-law Gary Dudney and Dave Dudney (Nina), of Lorimor; Don Siddens of Creston; nephew Levi (girlfriend Rhiannon) of Creston; niece Janelle Buxton of Polk City; grandniece Annalise Buxton of Burlington; other relatives and friends.
