Dennis LaMasters, 69, of Creston, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston with family by his side. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. The service will be livestreamed on Powers Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation with family receiving friends will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Dennis Lee LaMasters, son of Myron Cain LaMasters and Mae Margaret (Stanfield) LaMasters, was born Sept. 8, 1951, in Creston. He was educated at Creston High School, graduating with the Class of 1970. Denny later attended Southwestern Community College taking computer science classes.
On Nov. 26, 1969, Denny was united in marriage to Pamela Suzanne “Susie” McKee in Afton. Together, they lived the majority of their life in Creston. He was the proud father of Joseph, Curtis and Megan. Denny worked as a technologist for Green Hills A.E.A. He retired in 2017.
He was also the owner and operator of Built Networks, where he did computer sales, service, support and repairs. Denny was a member of the Creston Eagles Lodge No. 1398. He had a passion for classic rock music and played the guitar in a band named Stone Blue.
Denny is survived by his wife, Susie LaMasters of Creston; a son Curtis (Jessica) LaMasters of Omaha, Nebraska; a daughter Megan (Jarad) Decker of Creston; daughter-in-law Tonya Brown of Creston; eight grandchildren: Kacy and Kodi LaMasters, Colton, Quinton, Payton and Jaxton Decker, Haylee and Kylee LaMasters; two brothers Chuck (Sue) LaMasters and T.J. LaMasters; two sisters Vicki LaMasters and Barb Cunduff; two brothers-in-law Jon McKee and Bob (Pam) McKee; two sisters-in-law Charys (Don) Crawford and Marita McKee.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, his son Joe in 2013, three sisters Gloria Palmitier, Sheryl Jones-Schwartz and Nancy Meier.
