Melinda ‘Mindee’ Hoepker-Hanson

Mindee Hanson, 49, of Creston died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at Nebraska Medical Center. Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Doug Brunell will officiate the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Masks and social distancing are required. Visitation with family receiving friends will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, with services following immediately at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Melinda ‘Mindee’ Diane (Hoepker) Hanson, daughter of Keith H. Hoepker and Agnes Debra (Avazian) Hoepker, was born Dec. 2, 1971, in Creston. She graduated from Lincoln East High School in Lincoln, Nebraska, with the class of 1990 and then attended University of Nebraska – Lincoln. In 2004, Mindee returned to Creston.

Mindee was united in marriage to David Hanson and this union was blessed with three children: Brooke, Kyler and Jameson. Mindee and David later divorced. Most recently Mindee was employed at Bunn-O-Matic in Creston. First and foremost, Mindee loved being a mom and spending as much time as possible with her three children. She also loved watching and following the Nebraska Cornhusker Football team and visiting with her many friends.

Surviving Mindee are her children: Brooke, Kyler and Jameson; mother Agnes (Avazian) Hoepker of Creston; father Keith Hoepker (Jane White) of Creston; brother Curtis Hoepker of Statesville, North Carolina; aunts: Ruth Avazian of Creston, Andrea Avazian of Huntington Beach, California, Carolyn (Jim) Collins of Maryville, Missouri, Joan (Doug) Brunell of Creston and Cindy Hoepker of Urbandale; uncles Dale Hoepker of Orient and Gary Hoepker of Parsons, Kansas; along with cousins, extended relatives and many close friends.

Mindee was preceded in death by her grandparents Leo and Florence Avazian, Elton and Evelyn Hoepker; uncle Jim Hoepker and her great-grandmother Mamie Rowell.
