Thursday the Union County Sheriff’s Office charged Douglas Reuter, 70, of Lorimor, with second-degree sexual abuse of a child victim, a Class C felony.
Reuter was arrested Jan. 16 on two counts of third-degree sexual abuse of a child victim after investigations conducted by the sheriff’s office and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations lead them to believe Reuter had inappropriately touched two minor female victims in his Lorimor home in 2022.
According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, sometime in fall 2023, Reuter sexually assaulted a minor female by touching her with his mouth and fingers. The victim described Reuter using a lubricant in a clear bottle with a purple lid each time she was assaulted.
During a search warrant of Reuter’s residence executed Jan. 23, lubricant bottles matching the victim’s description were found.
Reuter was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $25,000 cash or surety bond. Reuter is scheduled to be in Union County District Court for an initial appearance on the new charge Feb. 5.
