Creston Police report - Feb. 14, 2024

Roy D. Parrott, 57, of Shannon City was taken into custody 3:23 p.m. Feb. 13 at Union Street and New York Avenue on the charge of driving while barred and a Madison County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of driving while barred.

According to a Creston Police report, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped for having expired registration. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Parrot, who was found to have a barred license. Parrot also had an active Madison County warrant for failing to appear June 9, 2023, for arraignment on the original charge.

Parrot was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from on the Madison County warrant after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond and was cited and released on a summons to appear on the local charge.

Terry M. Brown, 66, of Creston, was taken into custody 8 p.m. Feb. 13 at Highway 34 and South Lincoln Street on the charges of controlled substance violation - possession with intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine over 5 grams and failure to affix drug stamp.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 7:23 p.m. a 2005 Buick Terraza was stopped for having a center brake lamp out. During the course of the stop, Creston Police K9 Baxo was deployed to conduct a free air sniff and alerted to the odor of narcotics.

A probable cause search was conducted and resulted in officers locating close to 1/2 ounce of methamphetamine, packed for sale and a digital scale. Brown did not have a tax stamp affixed to the methamphetamine.

Brown was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $30,000 cash or surety bond.
