Scooter’s to pour another cup for Creston

Scooter’s Coffee and its expansion of stores across the Midwest will include Creston, slated to open in early August.

Under construction at 806 S. Sumner, near the intersection with Taylor Street, Scooter’s will serve coffees, other drinks and pastries in a drive-thru only format.

Founded in 1998 by Don and Linda Eckles in Bellevue, Nebraska, Scooter’s Coffee headquarters is in Omaha, Nebraska. Scooter’s Coffee has more than 600 stores in 29 states nationwide with a recent push for more stores in the Midwest including western Iowa, according to a company spokesperson.

Scooter’s is known for its Caramelicious a mix of caramel sauce, frothy hot milk, and espresso topped with fluffy whipped cream drizzled and more caramel. Specialty espresso beverages, single-origin coffee, fruit smoothies, Scoot Infusions, cold brew, baked-from-scratch pastries, and other breakfast options will be on the menu. Scooter’s also recently released its first-ever ready-to-drink canned flavored lattes.

About 15 employees are expected for the Creston location.

“New Scooter’s Coffee locations are chosen by a number of factors. A lot of times, the franchisees have a connection to the community. Other times, we see that a community shares our core values. But no matter what the case may be, we see a need for specialty coffee in your area,” according to a company spokesperson.
