Special election to fill Arispe council seat

Voters in the city of Arispe are asked to vote Tuesday, Jan. 31 to fill a vacancy on city council. Ernest Abell and Tara Swierczek are the candidates.

The polling place will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Arispe United Methodist Church.

All voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the church before receiving and casting a ballot. Voters who are not registered, such as those who register on election day, and voters rhow have moved and changed voting precincts will also be required to provide proof of residence. A voter who cannot provide proof of identification may have their identity attested b another voter registered in the precinct who has an approved form of identification.

A person who is eligible to register to vote may register on election day b appearing in person at the polling place for the precinct in which the individual resides. The voter must complete a voter registration application, make written oath and provide acceptable proof of identity and acceptable proof of residence.

A voter has the right to voter from the voter’s vehicle if not able to to physically enter the building. Contact the auditor’s office for more information. The auditor’s office can also provide absentee ballots which must be returned before 8 p.m. on election day.
