Creston High hosts speech event

About 20 schools from southwest Iowa will be coming to Creston Community High School on Saturday to compete at the District Large Group Speech Contest.

The contest will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with performances happening all day. Community members are welcome to attend the fun day filled with talented speech team performances. It is only $3 admission to attend but additional donations are greatly encouraged since the event also serves as a fundraiser for the Creston Speech Team. Concessions will be served all day.

Schedules will be available to purchase on the day of the contest. Creston will have 10 groups competing in the categories of One-Act Play, Readers Theatre, Choral Reading, Ensemble Acting, Short Film, Group Improvisation, Musical Theatre and Radio Broadcasting. Schools compete anonymously so guests are encouraged to not wear school apparel. Photography and video recording are not allowed.
