Agrivision goes with Taylor County

AgriVision Equipment Group, LLC, a John Deere dealer, announced today it will be building a new facility in Taylor County.

In late July, Agrivision representatives met with officials in the city of Lenox, in Taylor County, and Union County about their plans to build a new estimated $8 million facility and merge their Creston and Lenox operations.

The exact site is still being determined, but has been narrowed to two sites. In late July, the Lenox City Council discussed Agrivision’s proposal to build north of its building at 412 Van Buren Street. Council approved to further work with Agrivision should it decide to build in Taylor County. Tax incentives would also be available in Taylor County.

“Creston was built in 1966 and Lenox in 1949. Both locations have received minor improvements over the years, however as the size of equipment has grown and the business has grown, both facilities lack the infrastructure required to support our customers effectively,” said Steve Mead, General Manager of AgriVision Equipment. “Constructing the facility in Lenox provides customers in Creston, Lenox and surrounding communities access to the broad AgriVision Equipment facility network to best support their needs.”

Construction on the new facility is expected to begin in spring 2023. The shop will be sized to house 20 plus technicians, with a mix of shop and dedicated field technicians. The state-of-the-art facility will be equipped with overhead cranes, expanded parts inventory and a wash bay. Once established, the new location will employ 35 to 45 people.

AgriVision Equipment Group was formed in January 2014, with the merger of A&M Green Power Group and Barker Implement. The merger completed the consolidation of four long-time, family-owned John Deere dealerships that cover Southwest and South Central Iowa, into one operating unit, with 17 locations: Clarinda, Creston, Hamburg, Ireton, Lawton, Le Mars, Lenox, Leon, Macedonia, Massena, Pacific Junction, Paullina, Red Oak and Winterset. The company’s headquarters are located in Pacific Junction. AgriVision Equipment has 450 plus employees.
