Greater Regional continues as primary stroke center

Chief of Medical Staff Dr. Holliday reported to the Greater Regional Health Center board Monday the executive medical staff met on April 19. Appointments and reappointments for tele-radiology were reviewed and approved.

Chief Quality Officer Kim Weehler reported on the status of facility-wide quality goals. Greater Regional has transitioned platforms for patient surveying from Press Ganey to NRC. Response to the new the surveys has been positive. Surveys for outpatient services have been streamlined and patients have the option of completing electronically.

Greater Regional Health had a successful survey and reaccreditation as a primary stroke center through DNV. Work continues in preparation for certification in infection prevention.

The board approved a capital requisition presented by Matt McCutchan, CFO, for a new water heater to prov the hospital side of the facility including ER, rehab services and dietary. The heater approved was from Camblin Mechanical for $46,300.

Chief Executive Officer Monte Neitzel reported the Greater Regional Healthcare Foundation will sponsor the Creston Farmers’ Market again this year.

Neitzel reported four new providers will join Greater Regional. Marc Zoutte, PA-C will join Dr. Ralston, Dr. Rankin and Jake Davis, PA-C in orthopedics in July. Dr. Kisten Krakovec will join the family medicine team in October. Sheena Courtner, PA-C, will join the Internal medicine team in July. Dr. Rose Koeppel will join Dr. Standing and the pediatrics team in July.

Teresa Newman, UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, reported a board lunch and learn was hosted by UnityPoint and education about cost reporting was provided. Greater Regional board members participated virtually.
