Creston Save the Girl Scout Community Project (April 3)

Save the Girl Scouts is hosting an event 1 to 4 p.m. at The Lobby, 301 W Adams St, to welcome any others that want to be involved in the efforts to preserve the cabin.

Creston Schools Fine Arts Fest (April 3)

Event held at the Creston High School starting at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial Pancake Jamboree (April 5)

The Annual Jack Keuter Memorial Pancake Jamboree will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 5 at United Methodist Church 400 N. Elm St. Tickets are $7 bought in advance from members or $8 at the door. Children $4 at the door.

Steven Ray coming to Holy Spirit Church (April 8)

This event is open to the public and free. Ray will be explaining Biblical basis related to the Old and New Testaments. Join us 6 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Church, 107 W. Howard St.

Easter Food Basket Distribution (April 9)

From 9 to 12 p.m. the Creston Food Shelf will be giving out food baskets on a first come first served bases, drive thru only and no deliveries. Questions call 641-344-1159.

Legislative Coffee (April 9)

Visit with Rep. Tom Moore and Sen. Tom Shipley 8 a.m. April 9 at the mealsite inside Creston’s depot and find out what is going on in the state legislature. Submit questions to chamber@crestoniowachamber.com.

Family Literacy and STEM Night (April 11)

The event starts at 6 p.m., held in the East Union auditorium. Brain Aspinall, an educator, best selling author, a STEM innovator will be present working with students April 11 and 12. He and students will lead activities that integrate literacy, math and computer science during the event dates.

Creston Middle Spring Vocal Concert (April 11)

Creston Middle School Spring Vocal Concert is 7:30 p.m. April 11 in the middle school commons.

Prehistoric Union County, Iowa (April 13)

Presentation at the Gibson Memorial Library from 7-8 p.m. by Rick Friday covering Native American Culture– Stone Tool Technology, Paleoindian Period 11,500 - 7,500 BC– Mammoth Hunters, Archaic Period 7,500 - 800 BC– nomadic Hunter-Gatherers, Woodland Period 800 BC - 1,200 AD– The Agriculturalist.

Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Center Workshop (April 21)

Event held 5 to 7 p.m. at the Diagonal School gym lobby, 403 W. 2nd Street. Free workshop for parents and caregivers, providing info about children’s sexual development, helping adults develop skill and comfort to respond to questions and promote healthy behaviors.
