The UC Community Foundation Grant deadline is April 1

The Union County Community Foundation has more than $80,000 in grant funds available for charitable and nonprofit organizations serving Union County. The grant cycle has been open since February and grant applications must be postmarked by April 1.

Grants are awarded in a competitive grant process to those organizations that score on four funding priorities: positive impact to Union County, permanency of the project, the number of people impacted by the project and the amount of community support the project has, including other financial support.

To be considered for a grant, organizations must be tax-exempt, nonprofit entities classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization or a government body (school, city, county).

Application forms may be obtained at desmoinesfoundation.org/union or by contacting Kyle Wilson at 641-202-9072.

The mission of the foundation is to contribute to a better life for the people of Union County. Foundation Board members are Pennie Cheers, Judy Hopkins, Erik Niggemeyer, Rhonda Giles and Kyle Wilson.
