Nodaway Valley 69, Atlantic 51

ATLANTIC – Class 2A No. 6 Nodaway Valley (7-0) continued its hot start to the season, knocking off Atlantic (3-5) Saturday 69-51.

A tight ball game through the first half saw Nodaway Valley lead 31-25 at halftime. The Wolverines outscored Atlantic 38-26 in the second half.

Maddax DeVault scored 27 points with five rebounds. Lexi Shike and Lindsey Davis each scored 11 points. Shike also grabbed 17 rebounds for a double-double.

Boys

Nodaway Valley 67, Atlantic 61

ATLANTIC – Nodaway Valley (4-3) picked up a 67-61 win over Atlantic (2-3) Saturday.

The Wolverines jumped out to a strong lead, going up 22-11 in the first quarter before taking a 39-21 lead at halftime. Atlantic brought things back with a 22-point third quarter, but Nodaway Valley held on for the win.

Nodaway Valley connected on eight 3-pointers, shooting 33.3% from beyond the arc. Toby Bower scored 24 points with 12 rebounds for a double-double. Avery Phillippi and Boston DeVault scored 18 and 10 points, respectively.
