NV sending eight large group speech events to state

State contest set for Feb. 7

Nodaway Valley’s speech team will be taking eight large group events that earned Division I ratings at the district contest last Saturday at Creston to the state contest Saturday, Feb. 7.

Events moving on include:

• Group Improvisation: Caroline Britten, Lea Stonebraker, Erik Jensen and Paul Kading

• Group Mime: Mya Larson and Kenzie Lilly

• Musical Theater: Mamma Mia - Bella Day, Kayla Stormer and Kaylee Van Horn

• Group Improvisation: Melanie Kilborn, Dominic Breheny, Emily Butler, Lyrick Schwartz and Paiton Ward

• Short Film: Peek A Boo - Bella Day, Vivienne Burnside and Michidel Mercado

• Ensemble Acting: Outer Space - Melanie Kilborn, Kacie Ford, Kayla Stormer and Ava Jenkins

• Ensemble Acting: The Christmas Truce - Dominic Breheny, Lyrick Schwartz, Haden Colton and Keland Schwartz

Musical Theater: Beetlejuice - Micah Cronk, Elaina Stuva, Jonathan Maldonado and Paiton Ward

Receiving Division II ratings at district contest were:

• Short Film: Termination - Elaina Stuva, Micah Cronk, Haden Colton, Malikye Draman, Jonathan Maldonado, Kaylee Van Horn and Kenzie Lilly

• Television Newscasting: Pets of Today - Emily Butler and Ava Jenkins

• Short Film: The Trip - Erik Jensen and Paul Kading

Due to inclement weather the day of district contest, the speech team was unable to gather all participants for a photo. State contest participants will be featured in an upcoming edition.
