Varley, Kearns announce Stuart law collaboration

Called Varley and Kearns Law Offices starting Jan. 5

Varley Law Office, PLC, and Kearns Law Firm, PLLC, have announced a collaboration as Varley and Kearns Law Offices, effective Jan. 5.

Mitchell P. Kearns, who received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2020, will move his law practice to Stuart and join Warren Varley and Karen Varley at 201 NE Second St. The move marks a homecoming for Kearns, who was raised in Dexter and graduated from West Central Valley High School in 2012.

In addition to private practice experience in Des Moines and Perry, Kearns has served as technology and commercialization director at the Iowa Small Business Development Center in Ames. In that role, he advised technology-based startups and entrepreneurs, helping identify intellectual property opportunities to turn innovative ideas into viable businesses.

Kearns is a results-driven attorney with a background in business development, legal counseling and intellectual property law. His practice includes estate planning, land transactions and litigation. Warren and Karen Varley said they look forward to adding Kearns’ skills and commitment to the community to the services they provide in the four-county area.
