Corinne Bond

Bond graduated from Nodaway Valley and returns after obtaining an elementary education degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, to teach fifth grade math. She is a first-year teacher.

Bond says she is excited to be at Nodaway Valley because of the community culture.

She will coach volleyball and was a middle school softball coach this summer.

Madelyn Bonus

After six years as a special education associate in the Waukee Community School District, Bonus comes to Nodaway Valley to teach transitional kindergarten — a new program that helps bridge the gap for some students between preschool and traditional kindergarten.

Bonus earned a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education and special education from Western Governors University. She is excited to start her teaching career in a supportive community like Nodaway Valley and to give back.

A few fun facts about Bonus are that she has two dogs that she loves exploring nature areas with around Winterset. She also enjoys taking care of her more than 30 houseplants.

Caylor Clark

Clark is a first-year teacher who hails from Pleasantville. He graduated from Central College with degrees in K-12 physical education and health and is excited to teach at Nodaway Valley due to the small town aspect of knowing everyone, the support the community has for its schools and that he gets to coach.

Clark, who will teach middle school and high school physical education, coach various sports and be a strength and speed coach, has three siblings. He cheers for Iowa State and the Green Bay Packers. He loves sports and being outdoors.

Brock Hage

Hage graduated with bachelors of science and bachelors in theology degrees with an ESL endorsement from Emmaus University in Dubuque and is a first-year teacher who will teach ninth grade English at Nodaway Valley.

A New York native, Hage is excited to be at Nodaway Valley because of the great staff and the potential there is for him to grow as a teacher.

Hage is fourth in line of seven kids in his family. His father is Canadian and he grew up in the New York City area. A fun fact about him is that he has been to every state east of the Mississippi River plus Iowa.

Jamie Hanscom

Hanscom, from Fontanelle, will teach middle school special education after spending two years teaching fifth and sixth grade at Orient-Macksburg. She holds a bachelors in elementary education with a pre-K endorsement and a masters degree in special education. She is excited to continue her own academic journey while enhancing experiences for children in the school system.

Hanscom has been married for 17 years, has eight children and three grandchildren. Archery is her family’s “hobby.” She is an old soul when it comes to television shows.

Heather Loreth

Originally from Lawton, Loreth will be the elementary school counselor beginning this year. She has experience as a school counselor at various levels at Holy Cross, Kingsley-Pierson and Sioux City East High, all in the Sioux City area.

Loreth is most excited to be at Nodaway Valley because she gets to return to the elementary school setting.

One of nine children in her family, Loreth has two young adult children. She likes to read, garden and bake in her free time.

Michelle Pellman

Pellman comes to Nodaway Valley to teach second grade. She’s from Stuart and most recently taught third and fourth graders at Orient-Macksburg for four years. Before that, she taught for two years in Corning, teaching fourth grade. She holds a bachelors in elementary education from Simpson College.

Pellman is excited to be at NV because of the great small town environment it has. She is married with a 2-year-old named Ivy.

Renee Sammons

Sammons will teach kindergarten at Nodaway Valley after she taught various elementary grades for the past 15 years at Orient-Macksburg.

From Orient, Sammons has a bachelors degree in elementary education with endorsements in Pre-K and kindergarten as well as K-8 reading, all from Buena Vista University.

Sammons is excited to be able to teach in a small school close to home and teach with many people she knows.

Married to Dean, Sammons has two children. She enjoys camping and spending time with her family. A fun fact is that she is the dairy superintendent for the Adair County Fair.

Megan Shinn

An Orient resident, Shinn will teach first grade. She worked the last two school years as a teachers assistant at Creston. She holds a bachelors degree in elementary education with a pre-K and kindergarten endorsement with an associates degree in early childhood education. She is most excited to begin a new journey in a new district.

Shinn said she has a beautifully blended family of five children and four grandchildren. She enjoys crafting and spending time with family.

A substitute teacher for the past five years at Winterset, Stone has an associate’s degree in fine arts from the Creative Center College of Art and Design as well as a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from William Penn University.
