The Adair County Health Foundation is honored to announce a generous $165,000 donation from the estate of Larry Joe Vandewater. This heartfelt gift, presented by Larry’s nephew and estate executor Mike Rosenbohm, is made in loving memory of both Larry and his late wife Jean.
Longtime residents of Greenfield, Larry and Jean were deeply rooted in the community and profoundly touched by the care they received from Adair County Health System. Their decision to include ACHS in their estate plans reflects a deep appreciation for the kindness, compassion and quality care that supported them through critical moments in their lives, officials said.
“The Vandewaters’ story is a powerful reminder of the impact our staff can make in the lives of those we serve,” ACHS Foundation Director Jackie Morris said. “This gift is a beautiful expression of gratitude and trust in our mission, and we are incredibly honored to carry their legacy forward.”
The funds come without restrictions, allowing ACHS the flexibility to invest in areas of greatest need across the organization. This unrestricted support will make a lasting difference for patients and families throughout Adair County and beyond.
Jean passed away in 2023, followed by Larry earlier this year. In choosing to give back to the healthcare system that was there for them when they needed it most, the Vandewaters leave behind a legacy of compassion and community.
The Adair County Health Foundation welcomes additional support to continue advancing local healthcare and ensuring access to exceptional care for all.
