Memorial Day services are planned for Monday, May 26 around the area.
Greenfield will host a 10 a.m. service at Greenfield Cemetery complete with the Nodaway Valley band playing patriotic music, placing of poppies on white crosses signifying fallen veterans, the reading of the Honor Roll and more, including a keynote address by Nancy Ferber. In case of inclement weather, the service will be at the fitness center.
Bridgewater’s service will be 10 a.m. at the Bridgewater Activity Center with Jim Raasch of Cedar Rapids giving the keynote speech.
Fontanelle will hold an 11 a.m. service at the Fontanelle Cemetery. Giving the keynote address is Pastor Melinda Stonebraker of the Greenfield United Methodist Church. The location will be the Fontanelle Community Building in the case of inclement weather.
