Bulldogs finish regular season before SQM at Wayne

Orient-Macksburg junior Emma Boswell runs in a sprint race for the Bulldogs in the Bluegrass Conference meet at Graceland University in Lamoni.

Orient-Macksburg junior Emma Boswell was conference champions in the high jump during a meet Tuesday, May 6 at Graceland University in Lamoni.

The O-M girls were sixth in the Bluegrass Conference with 42 points.

Emma Boswell’s jump was 4-08. The team’s next highest finisher was Marissa Cass, who was runner-up in the 100m dash in a time of 13.55 seconds. Cass was also ninth in the 200.

Emma Boswell was third in the long jump with a best jump of 15-02 and fifth in the 200 in 29.23.

Ella Boswell took fifth in the 800 in 2:53.20. She was seventh in the long jump.

Mattie Thompson was eighth in the 400 and ninth in the 100.

The Bulldogs’ distance medley relay of Emma Boswell, Cass, Thompson and Ella Boswell was third in 5:06.77.

Ankeny Christian wins boys team title

Ankeny Christian Academy scored 171 to win the boys side of the meet and Murray was second with 129.

Mason Payne was the lone boy who competed for Orient-Macksburg. His best finishes came in the 100m dash (12.51) where he placed third. He was fifth in the 200 (22.54), fifth in the long jump (17-02.5) and 11th in the discus (90-05).
