Sprinters lead the way for O-M in Lenox

Cass, Pierce lead their respective teams

Orient-Macksburg Bulldogs

The Orient-Macksburg girls and boys track teams were at Lenox Monday, April 21.

The girls scored 25 team points and placed ninth. Oakland Riverside won the meet with 138 points while Shenandoah took second with 94.

Marissa Cass was champion of the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.53 seconds. Her performance was the best of the night for the Bulldogs. She supplemented it with a seventh-place high jump.

Emma Boswell’s best jump in high jump was 4-10, good enough for third. She was ninth in the 200m dash (29.78). Her younger sister, Ella Boswell, collected two top-10 finishes. She was seventh in the long jump (13-08.75) and 10th in the 800 (2:59.11).

The Bulldogs were ninth, with Ella Boswell, Cass, Mattie Thompson and Emma Boswell, in the distance medley relay, with a time of 5:46.71.

Pierce competes in two events

Shorthanded on the boys side, Andreas Pierce was the only one to compete in Lenox.

Pierce competed in two individual and one field event at the meet with his best finish coming in the 200-meter dash, a race he was 14th in with a time of 26.13. He was 17th in the 100 (12.77). Pierce leapt 15-1.5 in long jump for 17th place.
