Macy Kuhns is captain of Simpson women's soccer

Macy Kuhns

Nodaway Valley alum Macy Kuhns was recently named one of the captains for her Simpson College women’s soccer squad.

The Storm kicked off their season Friday, Aug. 30 with a 2-0 win over Illinois Wesleyan. They then followed it with a win Saturday against Concordia-Moorhead by an identical tally. Both games were at home in Indianola.

Kuhns burst into the starting lineup last season for four games and was highly talked about throughout her junior season. She’s received Team Breakout Player of the Year and been a letterwinner for two consecutive years.

Now a senior, she’s listed as a midfielder on Simpson College’s roster.

Kuhns carries a double major in health services and leadership and nursing while minoring in economics.

Last year, Simpson made it deep into the postseason, winning one game at nationals before losing in the second round.

The Storm had home games this week scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, before traveling Wednesday, Sept. 11 to Grinnell College.
