Stuart's Kwik Star set to open Oct. 10

Work continues on the new Kwik Star store in Stuart, which is slated to open Oct. 10. It is located on the east side of Stuart Road just south of Interstate 80.

Officials with Kwik Star announced last week they have an opening day on the calendar for their new store that is being built in Stuart.

The store, located on the east side of Stuart Road south of Interstate 80, will open Thursday, Oct. 10.

“Kwik Star is thrilled to be opening a store in the community of Stuart, said Ben Leibl, with Kwik Star Public Relations. “We fell this will be a good fit for us as well as Stuart and we are thankful and excited about the partnership with the town for allowing us to build a new store here.”

Last February, officials indicated their store in Stuart will be approximately 9,000 square feet. It will feature a very modern look. Snacks, drinks, milk, eggs, butter and ready to eat foods will all be available in the new store.

Leibl previously told the newspaper that Kwik Star has found success in communities similar to Stuart, and that is what drew the company to town.

Kwik Stars have recently opened in the Iowa towns of Milford and North Liberty. Other upcoming grand openings the company has planned in Iowa are in Johnston and Norwalk.

While the store will open 5 a.m. Oct. 10, employees will receive the keys to the building about a week earlier than that. A grand opening and ribbon cutting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, with grand opening specials happening Oct. 21-27.
