Chuckwagon Restaurant has top-10 burger in contest

The Iowa Beef Industry Council Monday revealed the top 10 burgers for the 2024 Iowa’s Best Burger Contest and the Chuckwagon Restaurant in Adair has one of them.

This is the 15th year of the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattleman’s Association’s burger contest, which starts with nominations from across the state.

“More than 500 restaurants were nominated during this year’s voting process,” Iowa Beef Industry Council marketing director Kylie Peterson said in a news release. “This year’s Top Ten restaurants are award-winning worthy, but are only a few of the many restaurants in Iowa that do an outstanding job of promoting and serving our beef products to their customers on behalf of Iowa’s beef farmers.”

According to the release. to qualify, the burger must be a 100% real beef patty served on a bun or bread product. Burgers may include any combination of condiments, sauces, cheese or toppings.

All previous winners were allowed to compete in this year’s contest. Chuckwagon Restaurant won in 2016, The Flying Elbow in Marshalltown won in 2022 and Flight Bar & Grille in Huxley won in 2023.
