SWAT girls wrestle to 3-3 finish at Iowa Central

As a team, the SWAT Valkyries girls wrestling squad went 3-3 in the East vs. West Duals at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Shorthanded because of illness, the Valkyries were still happy with how they were able to perform. They finished second in their pool with their only loss coming to Decorah. They went on to lose two close duals against each of the teams they faced in the silver bracket of the tournament.

SWAT 235-pound sophomore Haley Armstrong, ranked ninth right now by the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association (IWCOA), went undefeated on the day.

At 170 pounds, Grace Britten is ranked third by the IWCOA.

Scores for the night at Iowa Central were SWAT defeating Denver 63-18; SWAT beating Sioux Central 54-24; SWAT defeating Fort Dodge 54-30; Decorah defeating SWAT 54-24; Ridge View defeating SWAT 42-40; and East Buchanan beating SWAT 48-36.
