Hospital breaking ground next week on facilities project

Adair County Health System is officially breaking ground on phase one of their master facility construction project. The groundbreaking ceremony is on September 6, 2023, at 9:30AM. ACHS welcomes the community to join us to kick off this very special event!

A master facility plan (MFP) serves as a multi-year roadmap that supports our mission and directs us in the future of our facility. ACHS wants to have a consensus-based vision for the future of our organization and for the future of our community. The plan will serve as a guide for the next 5-10 years of updates and projects that are needed the most. ACHS is partnering with Invision (planning, architectures and interiors) and Graham Construction to guide us through his project.

The first phase includes the expansion of parking for patients and employees as well as internal infrastructure improvements (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology) to ensure we are up to date for the next phases of construction. The next phases will focus on primary care and specialty clinic expansion among other items that will improve our patient experience.

The master facility plan is extremely exciting for ACHS and the Adair County community. ACHS plays a critical part in our community. Access to healthcare services is a key component to rural areas like Adair County. Adair County Health System is not only the county hospital, but also the hospital of choice in the area.

“I am extremely excited for this project to begin. We are so thankful for the support of the communities we serve. We are committed to enhancing partnerships with communities, local businesses, and organizations to foster a culture of collaboration and to strengthen our local economy and long-term viability of Adair County,” said Catherine Hillestad, CEO of Adair County Health System. “We have many services at ACHS, and we provide high-quality care with these services. Community members need to be aware of this amazing upgrade to our community and why they should choose their county hospital over another clinic in town.”

Construction is slated to start on September 7, 2023, and will go through Spring of 2024.
