Nelson piano recital held in Stuart

Piano students under the instruction of Janna Nelson performed in a recital Sunday, April 30 at the Stuart-Mt Vernon United Methodist Church in Stuart.

Soloists included Hope Kading, Luke Kading, Paul Kading, Brandon Carlson, Nora Newbury, Cherubim Mercado, Michidel Mercado, Lucas Nelson, Zoey Van Donselaar, Grace Nourse and Eli Nourse.

“Fairest Lord Jesus,” a hymn duet, was performed by the Mercados. Luke and Paul Kading played “Jazz Train” as a duet, “Siamese Cat Song” was a trio by Grace and Eli Nourse and Mrs. Nelson. Hope Kading and Mrs. Nelson played dual pianos duet, “Musette in D” by Bach. A special piano and organ duet by Debbie Wilson and Janna Nelson called “The Palms” concluded the performance.

Certificates were presented to the students. Hope Kading received her fourth trophy for twelve years of I ratings. She is the first of Mrs. Nelson’s students to receive that honor. She will graduate from Nodaway Valley High School in May.

Refreshments were served following the recital.
