Event Briefs for the week of Wednesday, March 15

National Ag Day event Tuesday at Fareway

Celebrate Ag Day Tuesday, March 21 at Greenfield Fareway with a host of local organizations.

From 3 to 5 p.m., visit with local ag leaders about the role of agriculture locally and on a wider scale. Sign up for a drawing to win prizes like Fareway gift certificates, beef certificates, pork certificates, and more.

Sponsored by Adair County Farm Bureau, Adair County Cattlemen, Adair County Pork Producers and Iowa Corn.

Fine Arts Night Friday, March 24

Nodaway Valley is holding a Fine Arts Night at the Warren Cultural Center 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 24.

The night will feature the jazz band, vocal ensembles, speech, play and instrumental music students, as well as visual arts. Refreshments will be provided and free will donations are appreciated.

Donkey Ball March 31 at NVHS

Greenfield Lions Club will be hosting Donkey Ball 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 31 in the Nodaway Valley High School gym.

Advance tickets are $8 each and preschool-age children are free. With purchase of an advance ticket, get 10% off a purchase of $25 or more at Olive Branch or Tiger Drive-In. Tickets are $10 at the door without the coupon.

Advance tickets may be purchased at FNB Bank in Greenfield or Fontanelle, Union State Bank or Greenfield Lumber.

Come early to enjoy more fun!

Sunshine Day Care will have a soup supper beginning at 5 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m. there will be family activities, including pin the tail on a donkey, ring toss, donkey bowling and more.

A coloring contest will begin at 6 p.m. with various age categories, and a cowboy/cowgirl costume contest begins at 6:30 p.m.

Donkey Ball will begin at 7:30 p.m. A concession stand will be provided by Sunshine Day Care. There will be a silent pie auction sponsored by Sunshine Day Care.

No video cameras or filming are allowed in the gym during the event.

Craft Class at Gospel Chapel started March 6

Craft Class for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade happens 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday nights from March 6 through April 3 at Greenfield Gospel Chapel, 401 E. Iowa Street.

There is no cost to participate. If school is canceled, there will not be craft class.

Craft Class includes crafts, puppets, singing and Bible verses.

Cornerstone hosting pre-Easter women’s gathering

Cornerstone Fellowship Church’s womens ministry invites the community to celebrate the hope of the Easter and spring season at Arise!, an Easter womens gathering 5 p.m. Saturday, March 25. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15. Reservations are needed by this Friday, March 17. Call 641-743-0221.

Featured speaker will be Kari Minter. The evening will feature music, beautifully decorated tables, a sit down meal, and additional testimony by Cindy Love of Greenfield.
