Adair County Health System (ACHS) welcomes Dr. Joel Weis, optometrist, to the organization. Dr. Weis officially started seeing patients on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Adair County Health System.
Dr. Weis is a highly skilled optometrist and is trained in diagnosis, treatment of a wide array of eye diseases and conditions. He also is well known in the community and surrounding areas as some may recognize him as he practiced at the former Family Vision Center, Greenfield location for approximately four years. Dr. Weis will be on-site at ACHS to see patients every Tuesday for vision care, products, and services.
“I did a research project in sixth grade about optometry. After that, I knew I wanted to be an optometrist. My entire family is in healthcare, so I grew up in this world,” said Weis.
Dr. Weis is a graduate of Creston High School and went on to get his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. After his undergrad, he received his Doctorate from Southern College of Optometry.
As a native of Prescott , he and his wife and two children reside in Creston. In his free time, he enjoys quality family time and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes.
