Fields of Faith soybeans harvested recently

Volunteers gathered on October 17, 2022, to harvest the 18th annual Fields of Faith mission growing project. Seventy acres of soybeans were planted this spring near Fontanelle on a farm operated by Dennis Lundy. Everything is donated, including land, planting, seed, chemicals and harvesting. There were 14 farmers who brought combines, trucks, tractors and grain carts to harvest and deliver the soybeans to the local cooperative. This year, 3,000 bushels of soybeans were harvested and donated.

The grain is sold locally, and the cash is forwarded to Growing Hope Globally. The revenue is then used to improve farming practices, education and marketing skills of struggling farmers around the world.

Under the leadership of Dennis Lundy, Rolan Jensen and Greenfield United Methodist Church, the local Fields of Faith project began in 2005. Soybeans sold this year generated $39,000, making our 18 years of donations to Growing Hope Globally a grand total of $631,000.
