Show Stock Buddies coming to Adair County Fair

The Orient Bulldogs and Jefferson Pioneers 4-H Clubs are very excited to have the opportunity to bring Show Stock Buddies to this year’s Adair County Fair.

Show Stock Buddies is an event that was created to integrate people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (Buddies) with 4-H members to give the buddy an opportunity that they otherwise may not receive. During this event, two 4-H members are paired up with a buddy to exhibit a pig, sheep, or goat.

This program also allows the next generation of agriculturists to give back to their communities while giving an opportunity to the buddy too.

The Show Stock Buddies event mirrors the Iowa Pork Producers’ Bacon Buddies Show at the Iowa State Fair. Some of our mentors and buddies have even participated in the Iowa State Fair Show! Please find more details about their successful show at www.iowapork.org/bacon-buddies/

Please consider sponsoring the Adair County Show Stock Buddies Event taking place on July 23, 2022, at 7 p.m. in the MidAmerican Energy Show Arena on the Adair County Fairgrounds. This event is not possible without the generous support from our community.

Please consider donating by contacting Heidi Rohrig (661-900-6004) or Lori Christensen (515-205-3099). We also invite everyone to come to the Fair to support our buddies at the show on Saturday, July 23rd!
